Statement |
This hieke was my first kakahu piece that I had made under the maru of Whakarongotai marae. It represents my tupuna, my whakatupuranga and the uri to come in te whanau Katene. Encased within the taneko are the marae which I ground myself in and hold strong as I discover new connections in this evolving world. (I did this piece as a year 10 student as part of my Level 5 Diploma in Raranga) |
