Ko Te Arawa te waka, Ko Ngāti Whakaue te iwi. Ko tēnei taku whakairo tuatoru. Anei he mihi ki tōku koroua, i mate ia i te tau rua mano tekau mā ono. This poupou represents my koro Dave. To me he was a rangatira because he was always there for me growing up, so this is my mihi to him. I have used rauru spirals to show his strength and energy. I have carved mangopare and puhoro to represent our whānau and our whakapapa, which also shows our connections to Te Arawa and Ngāti Whakaue. |
