Tōku Ao speaks of my world, the Māori world. A world that gives me life, gives me meaning, a world that gives me purpose. Tōku Ao depicts history from what once was to what is. Implements, weapons that were used to aide my people through survival in days of old and are now a reminder that we as Māori made it, we survived and will continue to do so. "Ko au ko tōku Ao, ko tōku Ao ko au" (My world is me and I am my world). |
