Statement |
My love for birds inspired me to create this piece. The morepork is a bird from the spirit world in Māori culture, as it is a bird of the night. I wanted to give the feeling of this bird on its journey with the use of koru, as koru represents growth and new beginings. Being Māori makes me feel proud as we are very unique and this can be shown through our art.
