Statement |
I am a proud descendant of Ngāti Mutunga in Taranaki. I enjoy researching Māori artists, especially those who have taught and studied at Te Aute College. My work is inspired by the likes of Sandy Adsett and Hiwirori Maynard. I have utilised a number of Māori designs such as kōwhaiwhai and koru. Te Aute College crest is an ode to all old boys who have gone before us. Especially those who have given to the arts. The four colours are an acknowledgement to the four house at Te Aute College. Green for Ngarimu VC, blue for Ngata, red for Tatana and yellow for Rotene. |
