He toi tupu, he toi ora, he toi i ahu mai i Hawaiki.
Tomokia ki te whare o Toi. Ko te whare nei i parua iho ki te muka rāwhiti, ki te neko, ki te kaitaka, ki te pakipaki – hei mātakitaki mō te ao whānui e.
The New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) is proud to present the Ringa Toi Student Exhibition 2017 – Celebrating Student Success. The exhibition celebrates the work of secondary school students working towards achieving NCEA Levels 1 – 3 with a focus on Toi Māori (Māori Art).
Launched in 2016, the exhibition showcases a range of Māori art forms including raranga, kākahu (wearable), whakairo, mahi-tā (paint, print, spray), and mahi-matihiko (digital).
Toi Māori is recognised as a vehicle to enhance student achievement and encourage retention at school. It also provides a platform where the use of mātauranga Māori is advanced and Māori learner success is accelerated.
NZQA acknowledges all the student-artists and schools that contributed works for this exhibition.
