Pilots of drafts achievement standards

Many schools are piloting draft achievement standards over the next four years, as part of the NCEA Change programme. As new draft standards are piloted they will be added to all schools' base scope of consent to assess. NZQA will only accept entries and results for the draft standards from schools who have Ministry of Education approval to participate in the pilots.

Pilot schools will need to load their updated consents file from the secure NZQA provider login into their Student Management System before entries are made or results reported for the new standards.

We expect pilot schools to report entries (and later results for internal assessment) against the piloted standards from 1 April onwards each year, in accordance with timeframes that will be communicated to pilot schools.

We will monitor entries and results reported by all schools after 1 April each year to ensure we do not receive entries and results submitted in error by non-participating schools.

Schools should inform teachers of this process and monitor the standards included in school courses and entries to reduce the risk of students being assessed against standards for which results cannot be reported.

Information about the draft standards can be found on the NCEA website:
