Māori identity is a significant part of tourism Māori in Aotearoa.
The Tourism Māori unit standards cover areas such as Māori communication, the importance of Māori place names, tikanga, kaitiaki practices and kaupapa Māori gatherings in relation to tourism Māori.
These resources are to help teachers and tutors assess ākonga against the relevant Tourism Māori unit standards listed in the Directory of Assessment and Skill Standards (DASS).
Assessors can also use the assessment support material for the Tourism Māori unit standards to develop tasks and assessment schedules.

Ākonga booklets
We provide an assessment booklet for ākonga for the Tourism Māori unit standards below. The booklet is available in te reo Māori and English. It generally includes:
