NCEA and NZ Scholarship examination timetable published

Deans to check the examination timetable and consider possible examination clashes for individual candidates.

February to March

Courses confirmed following NCEA results publication

Deans to check the examination timetable and consider possible examination clashes for individual candidates.

Advise candidates their selected courses will cause examination clashes and discuss entries.

April to September

(after file submission)

Examination clash candidates identified in Key Indicators.

Check the Key Indicators after every file submission. 

For identified clashes, check whether all standards for all examinations entered can be completed within a single examination session.  Consult with teachers, candidates, and, if necessary, your School Relationship Manager.

Make any adjustments which are appropriate to resolve clashes.

September to October

Resolving clashes and examination centre management planning

Confirm two-way clash arrangements meet NZQA principles.

Discuss three-way clashes with your School Relationship Manager.

Send letters to affected candidates informing them of the arrangements for their examination clashes.

Confirm plans for candidates with examination clashes with ECM.

Check Key Indicators to ensure that late entries do not generate new clashes.

Arrangements to accommodate clashes that impact on Examination Centre resourcing must be completed by 1 October. 

November

Examinations begin

Manage examination clash arrangements.
