Guidelines for the transition of TITO programmes to PTEs
The transfer of functions from Transitional Industry Training Organisations (TITOs) is planned to be completed by the end of 2022. Standard setting and moderation functions were transferred to WDCs in October 2021.
Arrangements for the transfer of arranging training and oversight of apprentices and trainees is progressing as transition plan are agreed with the TEC Board. While it is expected most work-based training will be transferred to Te Pūkenga, some PTEs will also be considered, alongside other providers, to take on responsibility for apprentices and trainees.
The purpose of these guidelines is to provide information to PTEs and TITOs on the NZQA approval process and requirements for the transition of TITO programmes to PTEs.
