2016 Top Scholarship Award winners
NZQA celebrated the success of the highest-achieving New Zealand Scholarship students at the annual Top Scholar Awards Ceremony hosted at Parliament.
The awards recognised the elite students who make up the 2016 Premier Award and Top Subject Scholarship Award winners.
Prime Minister's Award for Academic Excellence
The recipient of the 2016 award was announced by the Minister of Education, Nikki Kaye, at Parliament – former Hamilton Boys' High School student, Christopher Mayo.
Winner of the 2016 Prime Minister's Award, Christopher Mayo with the Minister of Education, Nikki Kaye.
Christopher achieved Outstanding Scholarships in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Statistics, Calculus, and Classical Studies, and Scholarships in English and Media Studies. He was Top Subject Scholar for Chemistry.
