2017 – Review and Revision of Hauora, and development of new Whānau Ora unit standards

These changes were a result of the mandatory review of the Health and Disabilities, Social Services and Whānau Ora qualification and the subsequent listing of 11 mātauranga Māori qualifications on the NZQF December 2015. The current and future skill and knowledge requirements of the sector were discussed at length with sector experts; and has informed the writing of these whānau ora unit standards that align to the New Zealand Certificates in Whānau Ora.

2016 – Review of Hauora unit standards

The standards were reviewed and amended to ensure that they are relevant and fit for purpose and that their outcomes are achievable, coherent, and consistent with valid assessment practices.  The review was carried out in consultation with the Whakaruruhau.

The standards were reviewed to ensure they are fit for purpose and relevant. Hui with the Whakaruruhau Hauora were held during January and further discussions held by telephone and via email.

Draft standards were published on the NZQA website and stakeholders were invited to submit feedback. All amendments were endorsed by the Hauora Whakaruruhau.

2015 – Review and Rollover of Hauora unit standards

In 2015, MQS initiated the review and rollover of unit standards from the subfield Hauora as part of a planned work cycle. Hui with the Whakaruruhau Hauora were held August, and October 2015 to ensure the standards are fit for purpose and relevant.
