Statement

I am in the raranga class.  I am proud to say that I have made my first hieke.  The tāniko pattern represents my brothers and sisters.  The tāniko is unique to me and I have placed my whānau name in the middle of the hieke.

 

Whanake ake, whanake ake is a saying in the rohe pōtae referring to the fighting formation used by our tribal leaders, these notches represents whakapapa.
