Ko Kapūterangi te maunga Ko Ohinemataroa te awa Ko Tupateka te whenua Ko Te Tahi o te Rangi te tīpuna whare Ko Te Kura Tuarua o Taoroa.
Ko Ngāi Tainui, Ngāti Maniapoto, Te Whānau-ā-Apanui ōku iwi. E noho ana au i te tāone o Whakatāne, ko tōku nei kura i ēnei wā, ko Te Kura Tuarua o Taoroa.
My piece is part of a collection of taonga that encompass the ancestors and tīpuna of Toroa. My piece shows Tāneatua who is the half brother to Toroa and another important tohunga for those associated with Toroa. Those patterns used in my piece of work are Kiri-kiore (representing kai in the ngahere and Te Urewera) and unaunahi (representing the kai gathered from Te Moana-nui-ā-Toi).
