Code 101 workshop (Outcomes 1-4)
We facilitated the following workshop for staff at tertiary education providers over the course of 3 weeks at the end of 2021 (22 Nov - 10 Dec).
This workshop was developed to provide an overview of Outcomes 1-4 of the new Code of Pastoral Care, which is effective from 1 January 2022.
Outcomes 1-4 are for all tertiary education providers, and includes tertiary providers that enrol international learners.
This workshop is designed for any staff members that support tertiary learners, and in particular staff members who work within pastoral care, or student support teams.

Presentation on Self-review and the Code
NZQA has developed this presentation on conducting a self-review of learner wellbeing and safety practices against the requirements of the Code.
The presentation guides tertiary education providers and school signatories through the process of undertaking a self-review of learner wellbeing and safety practices, and embedding self-review as an ongoing process at an education provider.
We encourage you to use:
- the Guidelines for Self-review (PDF, 497KB),
- appropriate self-review toolkit (for tertiary providers (ZIP, 27MB) or schools (ZIP, 15MB)), and
- a copy of your organisations' most recent self-review report/documentation to follow along with this presentation.
Use the links below to access a recording and copies of the presentation materials.
